SERVICE DATA AND SPECIFICATIONS (SDS) 103, mAIN GEAR ADJUSTING SHIM 106, rEVERSE IDLER GEAR ADJUSTING SHIM 107, mAIN GEAR ADJUSTING SHIM 107.
Do not reuse transaxle oil, once it has been drained, check oil level or replace oil with vehicle level surface, during removal or installation, keep inside of transaxle clear dust dirt, check for the correct installation status prior to removal or disassembly.
Certain they do not interfere with the function of the parts they applied, in principle, tighten bolts or nuts gradually in several steps working diagonally from inside outside, tightening sequence specified, use it, be careful not to damage sliding surfaces mating surfaces.
Installing differential side bearing outer race, (transaxle case side 4WD models), removing input shaft bearing spacer, removing input gear bushing, thrust.
Washer, input gear, 4th input gear, removing input gear 6th input gear, removing main gear 5th main gear, removing input gear, 5th synchronizer.
Removing main gear, 2nd main gear, synchronizer hub assembly, 1st main gear, reverse main gear 1st main gear, measuring wear inner baulk ring.
Measuring end play side gear, removing each bearing, gear bushing, removing and installing each retaining pin, nOISE, VIBRATION AND HARSHNESS (NVH) TROUBLESHOOTING.
Hard to shift will not shift, cHECK PLUG RETURN SPRING AND CHECK BALL (Worn damaged), use the chart below to help you find the cause of the symptom, double-cone synchronizer is adopted for 3rd gear to reduce operating force shift lever.
Triple-cone synchronizer is adopted for 1st and 2nd gears to reduce operating force shift lever, rEVERSE GEAR NOISE PREVENTION FUNCTION (SYNCHRONIZING METHOD), reverse gear can be matched smoothly in a structure by setting synchronizer hub, coupling sleeve, baulk ring insert spring, reverse gear, and letting reverse gear be synchronized.
Start engine and let it run warm up transaxle, set a gasket on drain plug and install it to transaxle case, to "Case and Housing Components" (RS5F51A) or MT-40, "Case Housing Components", remove plug (for 2WD models) or filler plug (for 4WD models).
Fill with new oil transaxle, after refilling oil, check oil level, set a O-ring on plug (for 2WD models) or gasket filler plug, (for models) and then install it clutch housing.
Do not reuse O-ring gasket, tighten plug mounting bolt (for 2WD models) or filler plug (for 4WD models) to specified torque, make sure that oil is not leaking from transaxle around it, measure oil level using a suitable gauge as shown in the figure, and then check if it within specifications.
Do not start engine while checking oil level, set a O-ring on plug (for 2WD models) or gasket on filler plug (for 4WD models) and then install it clutch, clutch housing side oil seal used on 4WD vehicles is attached to transfer.
